I have been talking about Affiloblueprint 2.0 and affiliate marketing recently but I guess I have left out an explanation on what is affiliate marketing for those who are new to this term.
It’s becoming increasingly popular over the years for websites to try make extra or additional income from their sites. With internet traffic increasing everyday and people looking for all sorts of information, the opportunities are there.
But in many cases, new affiliates may not fully understand the affiliate world and what is affiliate marketing all about and the term “affiliate marketing” has often been misunderstood.
In affiliate marketing, there are generally three ways that you will be compensated.
1. First there’s CPC or cost per click.
2. Next there’s CPA (Cost per Action).
3. Then there is Cost per Sale. This is the topic of discussion here.
Affiliate marketing is huge business, not only on the Internet but in our everyday life. It is a cooperative effort between merchants and an affiliate’s website, in person or your regular brick and mortar store.
Affiliate Marketing is a way of promoting a business or product and getting paid a commission for each successful sale you make through your marketing effort or store front. For this discussion, I will just stick to what is affiliate marketing on the internet today.
Those who promote products this way are called affiliates or associates. Most affiliates do the marketing of the products through their own websites, email lists, social networking sites, forums, but you are not restricted to these methods.
Affiliate marketing isn’t a pyramid-selling scheme, although it has often been associated with network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM), it’s similar but somewhat different kind of business model and some prefer to take a wide berth away from that. Affiliates are people looking for other source of income, trying to earn some extra cash from their websites, during their spare time, or individuals wanting a serious work from home business that they can be perform from anywhere with an internet connection. And do not overlook the potential to earn real serious income from the internet with affiliate marketing.
When we say “affiliate marketing” we’re actually talking about many things:
Finding good products to promote
Building websites
Earning money by displaying ads on your site
Conducting market research
Getting motivated, staying motivated, and avoiding potential mishaps
And more….
